Pi Beta Phi

Founded on April 28, 1867, at Monmouth College, Pi Beta Phi was the first national fraternity for women and has a longstanding tradition of promoting friendship, leadership, and lifelong learning. The Virginia Zeta Chapter was founded at Virginia Tech in 1967 and is dedicated to empowering members through academic excellence, personal growth, and a strong, supportive sisterhood. Guided by the values of integrity, honor and respect, lifelong commitment, personal and intellectual growth, philanthropic service, and sincere friendship, Pi Beta Phi encourages women to lead with confidence and make a positive impact in their communities. The chapter proudly supports Read > Lead > Achieve®, Pi Beta Phi's national philanthropic initiative focused on advancing childhood literacy through educational programs, volunteerism, and community partnerships.
